Discover the constantly changing scenery of the Grampians with this challenging overnight hike.
Known for its high terrain, unusual rock formations and sheer cliffs, Mount Difficult is a 25km circuit that will see you scrambling over rocks and up escarpments, and constantly rewarding you with spectacular views.
This is a must-do if you love the Grampians and want to take your overnight hiking to the next level!
Day one begins on a small section of easy walking track leading to Beehive Falls before starting the very steep ascent up the escarpment. We then leave our rucksacks at the intersection and enjoy a packless walk out to Briggs Bluff. Continuing our ascent through more escarpment and over continually changing trail from rock to sand and small flowing water crossings, we make the final campsite approach along a more open and relaxed trail.
Day two starts with the climb to the summit of Mt Difficult before a long and wonderfully exposed downhill scramble back to the beginning of the circuit.
