Walking through the stunning region of Daylesford this walk combines the misty treasures of natural surroundings with the tale of the Three Lost Children plus visit the idillyc Sailors Falls as part of this extended walk. With short sharp hills and a slightly extended format, this is a wonderful full day walk in the northern region of Melbourne.
We promise you won’t get lost in the bush as we journey from Lake Jubilee along an open fire trail towards Wombat Creek Dam and then visiting Sailors Falls before continuing on our normal route. If you have never experienced this part of Victoria’s Gold Regions before you have been missing out! An area famous for gold mining, natural mineral springs there is something both mysterious and tranquil about the bushland surrounding the area.
As with all TSA adventures, we will enjoy a range of yummy snacks, and delicious, nutritious home-cooked lunch, wonderful company and support along the way.

What to Expect

This walk has a number of short sharp little hills, and be around 18km in length. It’s a Grade 3 as the tracks are quite wide and easy surface to walk.

Despite the sad story behind this trail, the memorial for three local boys who disappeared over 150 years ago shows the heart, soul and community that is small towns such as Daylesford. We include an extra section on the Sailors falls loop making this walk even more interesting. 

What to Bring
  • Large drink bottle, or two normal drink bottles on a hot day.
  • A small backpack
  • Medication, camera etc
  • Hat, or beanie
  • Sturdy walking boots or trail shoes or runners.
  • Walking clothes, we generally recommend shorts or light pants with layers for your upper body.
