Another twisty up and down hike through one of our favourite forests. The hills of Olinda are always alive with sounds and sights, with many native and introduced species making the forest differ with every twist and turn. This walk is great for the mind and body, so join us, let us guide you, and let nature do it’s work, making you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for a wonderful nights sleep.

Grade 3 – good trails with some steep hills

Meeting location:  Valley Picnic Ground, Olinda (on Boundary Road)


From valley Picnic Ground, follow boundary road uphill until the sharp corner and turn downhill (north) along Prices Track. At junction turn left to stay on Prices Track. Cross roads, turn left (north) onto Chamberlain track, at the T intersection turn right along Eagle Nest Road and into Eagle Nest Picnic Area. head west across the picnic ground and take Hermans Track, turn right onto Georges Road and go past Bobcat Link Road. continue along georges Road, then turn left onto Barges Track. Stay on Barges track past all junctions until you reach the intersection with Bartlett road. Cross straight over and onto Rifle Range Gully Track. Follow this, (may be overgrown) and turn right onto KC Track, this twists a bit before turning right onto Black Hole Track, then shortly turn left onto Mathias Road. Follow Mathias road all the way to Silvan Road then turn back sharp left onto Poplar Track and the left again to stay on Poplar Track. Turn right back along Mathias Road and the second junction turn right again onto Fraxinus track (steep downhill). Turn left onto Ginko Track then right onto Yallambie Way which will take you back to the start. Well done to whoever navigates this!
